In December 2015, 195 countries signed a landmark agreement with the United Nations Framework Convention in Paris committing to reduce global temperature rise below 2C against pre-industrial levels. 159 countries have now ratified this agreement and are committed to setting individual goals to help reach this target which will be scaled up every 5 years. Developing countries who have signed the deal have also been promised financial support to help them adapt to climate change. The deal is the first in history to unite all nations in one agreement to tackle climate change. Find out more.
