Sustaining Creativity Data Lab
In partnership with Watershed
The digital age has enabled vast and diverse data collection which has supported our knowledge on environmental issues and opportunities: energy consumption, tracking, predicting behaviours and preferences, modelling scenarios and imagining consequences. Much of this data has been collected by Julie's Bicycle on our Creative Industry Green carbon calculator tools. Would how we feel and act change if this data was communicated differently? Would it help us to understand and trace our environmental impacts if we could interact with the data in creative ways?
Focusing on both pre-prepared and live data sets, Julie's Bicycle and Watershed ran an exploratory Lab on 7th and 8th October 2014 exploring the value, meaning and potential of environmental data and what we do with it. The Lab culminated with a public showcase of work-in-progress ideas for how to creatively translate data into meaningful behaviour change.
