Julie’s Bicycle team of experienced environmental scientists and facilitators provide audits, seminars and training that deliver answers on the nuts and bolts of energy reduction to the music and creative industries.
Our environmental audits and seminar and training programmes are focused on ‘doing’ while being tailored to the specific needs of each company. We believe prioritising both larger companies and small companies, sole traders, and community projects is key to success.
The Beat the Heat programme is designed for the independent/community sector which makes up a very significant proportion of the music business: 96.5% of businesses in the music sector employ fewer than 20 people, while 78% employ between 1-4 people (Source: C&C Skills). Given this scale, the independent/community sector have an important role to play alongside the corporate sector in reducing emissions, as well as through its potential to engage with and influence creators and consumers via social networking and peer-to-peer campaigning.
