Free and easy-to-use carbon calculators for creative companies
The first step to environmental action is to understand your environmental impacts, and the IG Tools are a unique suite of tools for festivals, venues, offices, tours and production managers to measure greenhouse gas emissions on an annual or per-activity basis.

Who can use the IG tools?
The IG Tools have been tailored for use across all creative and cultural sectors. There are five tools available for companies to use as relevant:
- IG Tool for Festivals and outdoor events
- IG Tool for Offices
- IG Tool for Production
- IG Tool for Tours
- IG Tool for Venues
The IG Tools are internationally applicable. Please note that there might be some discrepancy in the final results as it is likely that conversion factors for electricity and transport might vary slightly from one world region to the next.
Arts Council England is now working in partnership with Julie's Bicycle to deliver environmental reporting support via the IG Tools so that all National Portfolio Organisations and Renaissance Major Partner Museums can meet new funding policy as of 1st April 2012, which requires them to measure emissions from energy and water use, and implement environmental policies and actions plans by April 2013.
