EST
EST upgraded their fleet to include a further 14 Euro 5 trucks, which produce particle emissions 25% below the enhanced environmentally-friendly vehicles level (EEV). Alongside this overhaul, EST are keen to develop their responsible business practises by continually monitoring and developing their sustainability programme in order to shift the stereotypical image associated against the trucking industry.
As part of their projects, ES Group have set up their own Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001, and will have their final assessment in the Summer of 2010. A well documented environmental and sustainability policy can be found on their website. Alongside this, they work closely with Tour and Production Managers to help plan efficient tours with economical routes. Liz Madden, from ES Group, acknowledges that although it has implemented greener business practises, this “has not meant sacrificing our competitive edge”.
