GreenMyBand for Artists & Managers

Why me and why green?

Artists and managers have a unique part in transforming the music industry so that it becomes environmentally sustainable – and without the influence that these people yield the pace of change, and scale of ambition will both be significantly diminished. Therefore it is important that how artists use their power to miximum effect.

The starting point is to identify and limit the damaging impacts of your everyday operations, and then influence the people and businesses you work with.

Pressurizing your creative supply chain by gentle persuasion or, if you are really committed, by contractual obligation will help catalyse the shift towards a sustainable music industry. Artists are exposed to public scrutiny and therefore being seen to ‘do’ is a pre-requisite if you claim to be ‘green’.

These simple preliminary actions can be done with relatively little effort and at little or no cost:

  • Firstly make the commitment.
  • For artists and bands: Tell your manager that you want to ‘green’ your activities.
  • For managers/agents: Use the information below to identify how, and what, you can do to develop an environmentally sustainable business which supports your artist’s ambitions.
