Shipping and aviaition emissions finally included in climate bill

Ed Milliband, the secretary of state for energy and climate change has accepted that international shipping and aviation carbon emissions should be counted towards the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions and form part of calculations on the UK’s carbon footprint. These emissions, which form an estimated 7.5%  of the UK total, will now count in figures which the government have said need to be 80% lower by 2050
