Live Earth India cancelled after terror attacks

The organisers of the planned Live Earth concert scheduled to be held in Mumbai on Sunday December 7th have announced that the event has been called off after terror attacks in India’s financial capital killed nearly 200 people. Jon Bon Jovi, Roger Waters and Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan were to share the stage at the event to raise funds for lighting homes with solar energy in places where people do not have access to electricity. Organiser Kevin Wall said ”Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are saddened to announce that Live Earth India has been called off”. Viraf Sarkari, director of the Wizcraft event management firm, the local organiser, said that the event had been postponed ‘indefinately’.  Many internatnal stars had been advised not to travel to India at the moment.
