Almost half way in our Better Batteries Campaign
We’re four months in to the Better Batteries campaign and we’ve already signed up almost half of our overall aim of 100 companies and organisations. The current grand total is 43 groups, 9 of which are already using rechargeable batteries within their business and 12 who are already committed to buying them, which is fantastic news.
Why are companies making the switch? Because not only are rechargeable batteries 32 times less damaging to the environment, but they also save £42 per battery per year compared to disposables, reduce waste and have been proven a reliable technology by companies on Broadway, the West End and beyond.
Our signups include the Lyric Hammersmith who piloted rechargeable radio mics for their Christmas Pantomime, Aladdin; we will follow this up soon to find out how well that went. The Watermill Theatre responded to our bulletin with great news about their installation of rechargeables for their Wind in the Willows production. They were very happy with the results and look forward to the cut in cost that this will mean for the future.
After signing up to the campaign, our supporters receive a practical guide to using rechargeable batteries. This includes information on why rechargeables are better for the environment (and your budget), how reliable they are and why and how both disposable and rechargeable batteries should be recycled. Sign up to receive your guide today.
In terms of suppliers to speak to about rechargeable systems, you can always start by talking to existing suppliers who may also provide rechargeable solutions. We also have a list of mainly UK suppliers we can share with those who sign up and we are in the process of researching more suppliers to add to our Green Suppliers Database, which will be going live at soon. If you are a supplier of rechargeable systems for audio and lighting solutions and would like to be listed get in touch.
