Julie’s Bicycle believes in the power of community and networks, working with organisations, membership bodies and campaign groups of all sizes to effect impactful change.

Our Partners

  • Julie’s Bicycle EU is a newly-formed partnership between Native Events, based in Ireland, and Julie’s Bicycle, with the aim of facilitating a wide-scale, impactful programme of training, monitoring, reporting and environmental impact mitigation in the arts, culture and events sector in Ireland and onwards across the EU. One of the first outcomes of the partnership is the development of an Irish version of JB’s Creative Green carbon calculators.

  • Creative Green Canada is a project launching a new set of Creative Green tools in 2022, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.

  • Julie’s Bicycle is a campaign co-founder and, now that Music Declares Emergency has established itself as an independent organisation, part of the advisory working group bringing together the UK music community to make a historic declaration of climate and ecological emergency. Music Declares is a group of artists, music industry professionals and organisations that stand together to declare a climate and ecological emergency and call for an immediate governmental response to protect all life on Earth.   • In 2020 we launched a partnership and collaboration with Happy Museum seeking to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and climate resilient cultural sector which fosters the wellbeing of people, place and planet. JB provides a secretariat role for the partnership.

  • Julie’s Bicycle is a co-founder, steering group member, and secretariat of , supporting smarter practice and innovation in energy management for the outdoor events and festival industry. Through its research, guidance, advice, and role in bringing people together, Powerful Thinking has fundamentally changed the conversation about festival power in the UK and across Europe.

  • Julie’s Bicycle is a co-founder, steering group member, and secretariat of Vision: 2025, a growing network of over 500 outdoor events and businesses taking climate action. Resources, tools and people are connected on the journey toward net zero.

  • JB is a Working Group member, supporting this network of the UK’s live music and entertainment businesses. LIVE Green aims to collate and provide research, expertise and cross-industry innovation that is informed by the best science and supports the transition to a regenerative future. All 13 association members of LIVE have ratified the Beyond Zero Declaration to deliver measurable and targeted action on climate change, with the ultimate aim of reaching net zero emissions by 2030.

  • JB is an expert adviser to this strategic green task force supporting independent music companies and their artists across Europe to make their businesses more sustainable with a climate charter, carbon targets and recommendations. Julie’s Bicycle is also working with IMPALA to adapt our CG Tools carbon calculators platform for independent music companies across Europe, helping to support the implementation of the Music Climate Pact.   • JB supports ENCATC – the European network on cultural management and policy – by providing curated content for quarterly publications.

  • JB is a founding member of this network of international art organizations contributing to environmental sustainability through their creative practice. Learn more.

  • The European Creative Business Network (ECBN) promotes the interests of the cultural creative industries in Europe. Advocating for policy initiatives, funding and research…

  • JB is a member of the 2022-2024 Steering Committee for the Climate Heritage Network – a global network whose members are committed to mobilising arts, culture and heritage to address climate change and support communities in achieving the ambitions of the Paris Agreement.

  • JB is a knowledge partner for this platform building a sustainable and social event industry with a focus on human wellbeing within the earth’s natural boundaries. Learn more.
