JB begins partnership with IETM and the Australia Council on three-year project
Julie's Bicycle is delighted to be working with the 'IETM-Australia Council for the Arts Collaboration Project 2010/2011.' Drawing on the research findings from our Moving Arts touring reports, we have developed a programme of practical support for the project's green principles.
The project will bring Artists and organisations from both regions together in collaboration through artist-residency programs, producer placements, a one-off commission, workshops and a special ‘green’ project.
A number of underlying themes drive the program for 2010-2011: the acknowledgment of climate change in artistic practice, an inbound-outbound principle of international exchange, quality long-term relationships and the embedding of Australian artists in Europe.
With David Pledger of the Australia Council, JB will work alongside artists and producers participating in the program to assess their projects’ carbon footprint, a process which will assist the development of a standard 'green' rider on which future international activities can be based.
