Green Street is the Envirowise virtual tour designed to help businesses become more resource efficient. Green Street consists of a hotel, restaurant, public house, office and factory and each building has up to six different rooms relating to the type of services each establishment provides. Within the different rooms there are a variety of hotspots containing tips and advice on how to make that item more resource efficient and where to find more information. Las Vegas casino turning green
The Las Vegas Sands, one of the most recognisable of the strip's casino resorts, has been rewarded for greening its operations. The owners of the resort said last week that the Venetian and Sands Expo and Convention Centre had been awarded LEED Gold Certification. See here
Supermarket bees
Sainsbury’s is claiming a UK first by announcing plans for several hundred bees in land around its new eco-store in Dursley, Gloucestershire. It will be the first supermarket chain to have eight hives, made from sustainably sourced timber and recycled materials, on land around the new eco store.
