Creative Futures Launch - March 4th 2010 - 6-8pm
On Thursday 4th March 2010, six of London's most dynamic and forward-thinking organisations launch Creative Futures, a £1 million programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund to support peer-to-peer innovation and sustainable growth amongst London-based creative businesses.
Offering the unique opportunity to receive 12 hours of free specialised business support, founding partners' Julie's Bicycle, London Film Convention/Portobello Film Festival, MusicTank, New Media Knowledge, Portobello Business Centre and Paddington Development Trust have developed Creative Futures as a comprehensive response to the changes taking place in the global economy and the new economic realities facing small and medium-sized enterprises today.
Membership of the Creative Futures network is free for London-based small businesses and entrepreneurs working in creative industries including music, fashion, film and digital media. In addition to one-to-one consultancy, members gain free access to business-to-business opportunities, seminars, events and workshops - from technology innovation to climate change - on a first come, first served basis.
Whether developing an existing business model, developing a new product or service, analysing energy consumption, designing a green base into a business, seeking new markets, wanting to improve existing performance, or looking for investment capital, the Creative Futures programme may be able to assist.
Neil Johnston, Project Director and CEO of Paddington Development Trust, says: "This is a time of great change where business innovation needs to be coupled with a cooperative approach to sustainable creativity. Creative Futures will support London's network of outstanding creative businesses and facilitate collaboration among its talented people to develop creative solutions for a challenging future."
The Creative Futures launch event will be held at the newly opened creative hub, Great Western Studios, located in North Paddington, W2. The event is a chance to meet the Creative Futures partners and will feature music, games, DJ's, interactive art installations, a Talkaoke mobile chat show, complimentary drinks and many opportunities to network.
Creative Futures has been funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Membership is free. Register for the Creative Futures programme and launch event at www.creative-futures.co.uk.
