Julie's Bicycle - Moving the Arts

Added on 1st Jun 2010

Julie's Bicycle launches its latest, three-volume research project "Moving Arts: Managing the carbon impacts of our touring"  at three key events this summer. The study investigates the carbon impacts of touring both in the UK and internationally by bands, orchestras and theatres, and is the fruit of 9 months work by our research team with over 300 individuals and organisations.

Volume 1: Bands is launching June 17th at Royal Albert Hall alongside an industry breakfast, followed by Volume 2: Theatres at the National Theatre on June 22nd to coincide with the launch of the JB Green Theatre programme, while Volume 3: Orchestras will launch at the Royal Festival Hall on July 3rd, alongside celebrations of the 350th anniversary of the Royal Society and the European premiere of Icarus by Philip Glass, performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra . If you would like more information about any of these events or would like to be on the mailing list to receive the research once it is published please get in touch.

Supported by funding from Arts Council England, AEG, British Council, Orchestras Live and SJM.
