The Ashden Awards 2012: Call for entries
The Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy are seeking entries for the 2012 awards. The awards are open to organisations in the developing world and the UK that are increasing the use of sustainable energy, reducing carbon emissions and/or changing behaviour to significantly cut energy use.
In 2012 a new award will also be offered in partnership with Eurostar to recognise and reward local sustainable travel schemes in Belgium, France and the UK.
The Ashden Awards are unique – as well as substantial cash prizes, they promote winners' work through video, events and media coverage and provide tailored support packages to enable scale up and project expansion.
Entry is free, and winners will receive £10,000–£20,000 each in prize money for programme development, with two gold awards of £20,000–£40,000.
The awards will be presented at a prestigious ceremony in London in May 2012.
