Julie's Bicycle Green Studio Survey Results
A survey of 20 studio spaces across the UK shows that environmental concern is increasingly becoming a music business priority
Julie’s Bicycle has revealed in a recent survey into the environmental practices of studios across the UK that 100% of respondents were motivated by the ethical cause of climate change and sustainability, with the second most powerful motivator being cost savings (67%).
The survey was completed by 12 companies representing 20 studios across the UK. The findings showed that 100% of the respondents are recycling waste, with 17% sending zero waste to landfill, 67% are measuring their energy use, and 50% are actively engaged in a range of sustainability initiatives from using energy saving light bulbs, buying Fairtrade food and cycling to work, to the installation of efficient heating systems and renewable energy sources such as PV panels.
67% of respondents thought communication of environmental initiatives to be important - one stated that all clients undergo an induction introducing the studio’s policies, and another discloses its environmental reporting on its website.
Respondents to the Julie's Bicycle green studio survey were entered into a prize draw for a consultancy session with Julie's Bicycle, and AIR Studios, based in London, was selected. AIR will work with Julie's Bicycle over the coming months to further develop their environmental action plan.
