JB Board member Ben Challis at the Federation of Music Festivals in Belgium
Julies Bicycle board member Ben Challis visited Finland on the 29th March to speak at the 'Green Your Event' conference organised by the promoters of the Ilosaarirock Festival, the Flow Festival and Ruisrock Festival and North Karelia University of Applied Sciences. Other speakers at Joensuu's Club Kerubi were Linnea Svensson from the Oya Festival in Norway and Jabob Bilabel from the Green Music Initiative in Germany. Topics included audience behaviour to environmental issues, carbon reduction and waste management.
This week (April 8th) Ben visits Brussels to give a keynote address to the Federation of Music Festivals in Belgium. who expect 140 festival organisers to attend the Federation's Annual Meeting which will take a special look at environmental sustainability at Festivals.
